Thank you for your interest in joining us!

We believe in the power of community and are gratified to see that membership inquiries have reached an all-time high. As a consequence, the waitlist for one of our 128 plots is currently 8-9 years, and we have paused accepting applications.

While there are no time limits on membership — with many members still caring for their plots after 20 years or more — we are working hard to create new plot configurations and membership opportunities so we can reduce our waitlist by welcoming new gardeners.

You may find a shorter wait time among the over 40 community gardens managed by San Francisco Recreation & Parks.

Manage your waitlist status…

If you have already applied for membership, click here to check your place on the waitlist, and a PDF will open in a new tab.

It's important to keep your contact information up to date:

  • We will confirm your continued interest by reaching out to waitlist participants twice a year

  • If we cannot get in touch with you, we will remove you from the waitlist

  • To update your contact information, please email president.fmcg@gmail.com

In the meantime, you can still get your garden on as a volunteer!

Many members began by getting to know each other at one of our five annual workdays. You can RSVP for our next workday here.

And, wonderful volunteer gardening opportunities are available to help tend to the beautiful common area gardens, whose care is managed and shared by select members.
